(Mandeville, LA) – Mandeville Salon d’Ville owner Tina Carpenter and her staff held a breast cancer awareness fundraiser in late October, naming Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center (MBP) as beneficiary of the $1,000 raised by the event. “We wanted to make a difference in the community and chose Mary Bird Perkins because it’s a local cancer center,” said Carpenter. “It helps so many and provides hope in the fight against cancer.”
Stylists donated a percentage of their service profits, including those for cuts and color. Many local merchants helped sponsor the event and donated food, gift certificates and prizes for those who participated by making a donation to Mary Bird Perkins. For more information about MBP, please contact Cindy Williamson, development director Northshore/Florida Parishes, (985) 974-4381.
