Greater Northshore Business & Community Council Formed

(Covington) – Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center (MBP) has established the Greater Northshore Business & Community Council to serve the Northshore and Florida Parishes. The Council is a volunteer-driven group with the mission of advancing Mary Bird Perkins’ life-saving work in patient care and research through advocacy, financial support and leadership. The goal of the Council is to continually increase philanthropic support for MBP and to grow its membership to represent a wide cross-section of the local business and philanthropic community. The members of the council were chosen for their leadership and involvement in their community and their commitment to helping increase support for the services the nonprofit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center provides.

Members of the newly-formed Council include Kyle France, Covington, chairman; Cindy Harlan, Covington, vice chair; Glenda Dobson, Mandeville; Mike Ford, Mandeville; Randy Kinchen, Mandeville; Joe Luquet, Mandeville; Mark Malkemus, Covington; Donna Taylor, Hammond; Pastor Alfred Young, Covington; Sue Zaunbrecher, Covington.

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has been fighting cancer for over 35 years with locations in Baton Rouge, Covington, Hammond, Houma and soon to be in Gonzales. It has comprehensive cancer programs with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
