(Covington) – Oktoberfest is Covington’s version of the renowned Bavarian event celebrated annually in Munich, Germany. Held this year on October 3-4, a new activity was added to the list of festivities that make up the fun-filled weekend. The first annual Runner’s Choice Walk/Run benefiting Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center attracted over 230 participants and raised over $3,000. “We had a great time volunteering at the race and want to thank the Oktoberfest organization for letting us be a part of such a wonderful event,” said Sherri Blackwell, one of the MBP Covington employees who helped with the race. “It’s a joy to be part of such a giving community.”
Heiner Brau Microbrewery and Runners Choice co-sponsored the Oktoberfest Run.
