Jonas Fontenot, Ph.D., is an Academic Medical Physicist in the Physics Department at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center reporting to Dr. Kenneth Hogstrom, Chief of Physics. Dr. Fontenot was a graduate student at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX before joining Mary Bird Perkins. He holds both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Medical Physics from the University of Texas at Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, LA. He is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
           

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has been fighting cancer for over 35 years with locations in Baton Rouge, Covington, Hammond, Houma and soon to be in Gonzales. It has integrated cancer programs with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge and St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
