Jeffrey P. Long, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist Joins Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC
(Houma, LA) - Jeffrey P. Long, M.D., a Board Certified Radiation Oncologist, was recently appointed to the active medical staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC). Dr. Long is practicing exclusively at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC. He is the newest physician to join the Southeast Louisiana Radiation Oncology Group (SLROG).
Dr. Long received his medical training at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at University of Arkansas for Health Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas and Humana Hospital-University in Louisville, Kentucky. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Dr. Long is the founder and Webmaster of the Radiation Oncology Online Journal, www.rooj.com. He has participated in many professional activities including research, presentations and publishing articles.
He has been active with the American Cancer Society in many states where he has held many positions, including President of the Macon County Unit in Illinois.
Immediately prior to his arrival in Houma, Long served as a radiation oncologist at the New Mexico Cancer Center in Gallup, New Mexico.

Dr. Long has three children in college. He and Jody Long will reside in Houma.
