(Baton Rouge) - A member of the Foundation Board of Directors since 2005, Bill Peters was elected Chair of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Foundation Board at its April, 2009 Board of Directors meeting.
"A healthy endowment ensures that Mary Bird Perkins will be here to benefit the communities it proudly serves for generations to come," said Peters. "Donor support of the Foundation will help to achieve its principal purpose of building a perpetual endowment fund in support of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. The endowment will also ultimately help support other non-profit entities that have demonstrated the ability to conduct cancer related programs, provide services that reduce cancer incidence and mortality, or improve the quality of life for those affected by cancer." Peters is Managing Director and the founder of Peters Wealth Advisors, LLC. He is Louisiana's second Certified Financial Planner so designated in the state's history and Baton Rouge's first.
Other Foundation officers elected include J. H. Campbell, Jr., Associated Grocers, Inc., vice chairman; Gerald T. Goss, Wells Fargo, secretary/treasurer; G. Lee Griffin, Chase (retired), immediate past chair.
