Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the medical radiation physicist, and following the dose prescription specified by the radiation oncologist, plans and calculates a radiation treatment plan for each patient presented utilizing simulation, CT, MRI and portal images. The treatment plan created results in the delivery of the prescribed dose of radiation to a defined tumor volume for both external beam and brachytherapy procedures.

Education:
Graduate of hospital or college affiliated medical dosimetry school or with Bachelor's degree in physical or biological science, engineering or mathematics, or Registered or Licensed Radiation Therapist.

Certification:
Qualified candidate must have a minimum of three years experience as a Medical Dosimetrist. Must have expertise in computer software related to radiation therapy; working knowledge of radiation safety, ability to read and interpert CT scans, radiographs, computer printouts and other diagnostic tools, Must also be able to physically enter data into a radiation therapy treatment planning computer; visually distinguish different anatomical structures, tissue densities, and isodose lines on a computer screen; and have the mental ability to accurately manipulate equations related to the delivery of radiation therapy treatments.
