Saturday, February 27, the Cancer Program of Our Lady of the Lake and Mary Bird Perkins offered free skin and colorectal cancer screenings and gave out information reguarding upcoming screening events, educational literature and clinical trials information to the attendees of the 10th Annual Irene W. Pennington Wellness Day for Women. Dr. Sandra Brown, PhD, professor and family nurse practitioner at Southern University, was on hand to answer questions about breast cancer screening guidelines. 167 free skin cancer screenings and 84 free colorecal screenings were provided.
