Golf Tournament
The Mary Bird Perkins Merrill Lynch Open presented by Amedisys and MAPP Construction is the only professional golf tournament in Baton Rouge. What was begun 20 years ago as a charity golf tournament has turned into Baton Rouge’s premier week-long golf event, featuring a kick-off party at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center, a four-day professional tournament, a Pro-Am and the Coca-Cola Junior Clinic.
The 2009 tournament was one of the most successful in its history, netting over $165,000. Proceeds from the week benefit Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, which provides hundreds of free cancer screenings and programs to thousands in southeast Louisiana each year. This year, we expect to raise even more funds to fight cancer. Please join us in taking a swing against cancer!
