Beginning at age 50, men and women should begin screening for colon and rectum cancers with one of the examination schedules below:
Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s C.A.R.E. Network offers free colorectal cancer screening kits to the medically underserved public. A take-home colorectal cancer screening test is one part of the recommended screening for colorectal cancer. The easy-to-use screening test will be distributed to men and women age 50 or older who have not been screened for colorectal cancer in the past 12 months.
This screening test does not replace a doctor’s examination or other screening procedure. Kits may only be picked up by the person who will use the kit.
