Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC Events

 

 

Houma’s Only Professional Golf Tournament!
 
The 2012 Mary Bird Perkins at TGMC Fakiér Open took place at Ellendale Country Club April 2 – 7. Featuring the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series, all proceeds benefited the fight against cancer in the Bayou Region.

Kicking off the week's festivities was the Taste of the Tournament Par-Tee and Auction on Monday, April 2. The event featured some of the area’s most delicious local cuisine, music and a silent auction. Click here to see pictures. The Pro-Am took place on Tuesday, April 3 in the form of a four-man shamble, with three amateur golfers and one pro per team. Click here to see photos.
 
The professional tournament, featuring Adams Golf Pro Tour Series players, took place Wednesday, April 4 through Saturday, April 7. Bill Allcorn, from Waco, Texas, won the tournament.

Ladies Night Out

The 6th Annual Ladies Night Out Cancer Fundraising Gala was held Friday, March 9 at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. The event featured an inspirational and fun evening with guest speaker Wendy Couvillon, a local breast cancer survivor, and Sue Peace emcee. The night also included a cocktail buffet, beverages and a large display of silent auction items along with entertainment by Sharon Martin and the New Orleans All-Stars. All proceeds benefited Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC.



Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
 


 

Staff members, family and friends of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at TGMC pariticipated in the 2011 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Thibodaux on October 29. Thank you to all those who participated in the fight against breast cancer!

Cancer Survivors Day

Held in June, this program celebrates survivorship and provides support and recognition of cancer patients and their caregivers.

Love Lights a Tree

A special Christmas ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those who have lost their battle to cancer. Ornaments are purchased and lovingly placed on the tree during the event.

Look Good, Feel Better

By offering skin, nail and hair care tips, this program aims to enhance the appearance and improve the self-image of patients undergoing cancer treatment. Professional present a 12-step make-up guide and information about choosing and caring for a wig and dealing with skin changes.
